25th june - 5th july 2013
From the 25th June to the 5th of July, the first edition of the ETHNOGRAPHIC VOYAGE IN TRANSYLVANIA was held mainly in Cluj-Napoca. We would like to thank our Canadian friends and partners, Sonia Dion and Cristian Florescu, for offering us the possibility of organizing this tour together. The voyage included Romanian traditional dance courses, as well as visiting different folk arias of Transylvania. The accomplishment of this tour was that we managed to pass the border of the professional teacher-student relation; therefore we are richer in experience, as well as in relations that will certainly survive in time. As for our friends in Canada, they know that in Cluj, a house gate and also our heart gate will always be open for them.
We spent, together with the 39 participants from Quebec-Canada, 10 unforgettable days with music and Romanian traditional dance. Extraordinary people from Marisel (Cluj), Frata (Cluj), Sinca Noua (Brasov) did their best for our guests to feel wonderful. We would like to thank them, too, for their help. We would also like to thank all our friends who helped us in achieving this tour, the employees of Hotel Agape and Grand Hotel Napoca in Cluj-Napoca, the guides from Salina Turda, The Ethnographic Museum of Transylvania and The Bran Castle. We also wish to thank our dancers from “DOINA” Children Folk Ensemble and “TRADITII” Student Folk Ensemble, the musicians who assured the music at the courses, as well as the ones who attended our visits, ensuring the entertainment or the music at the feasts. Last but not the least, we thank the Ardealul Orchestra from Gherla and our friends and acquaintances who participated in a great number at the special edition of ROMANIAN DANCE HOUSE on the 5th of July 2013, which was particularly organized for our guests from Canada.
We wish you all a peaceful summer and we’ll see you healthy next fall. As for the ones who are interested, we’ll see you next summer at the future edition of the ETHNOGRAPHIC VOYAGE IN TRANSYLVANIA.
